What to Expect

What to Expect

Our church, located in the hills on the edge of Los Angeles County, has a small-town, country casual, feel-like-family kind of atmosphere. We aren’t fancy or flashy, but with expository Bible teaching and an emphasis on obedience and love, we seek to make Christ known through His inerrant, perfect Word. Acton Faith Bible Church was started over 30 years ago and has expanded to minister to many who are convicted of their sins, having found a place to grow in the knowledge of God’s Word.

Our Desire

It is our desire to meet the spiritual needs of each person who comes our way; young, old or in-between. Our energies are directed to encourage one another to live more like our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.

What to Expect

Sunday mornings begin at 9:00 am with Bible classes for most ages – adult through kindergarten. Nursery care is provided for the youngest ones. The worship team does sound check and runs through music during this time so you may hear them before the main service if you step into the worship center.

From 9:45-10:15 am various church families provide refreshments – including coffee, juice and snacks. You’ll find this outside in the coffee kiosk which is located at the end of the sidewalk. This is also a time for the church body to encourage one another and catch up on what God has been doing during the week.

The main worship service starts at 10:15 am. We incorporate both traditional hymns and modern worship music with the ultimate goal of directing our worship to God alone. Pastor Wayne preaches verse-by-verse through the Bible as he clearly shows the relevance of God’s word in our daily lives. Children’s church is also available at this time for those in 4th grade and younger.

The Lord’s Supper is remembered on the first Sunday of each month. All believers are welcome to participate in this celebration of Christ’s death and resurrection.

Philosophy

Our philosophy of ministry is simple. Based on the words of the Apostle Paul in 2 Corinthians 11:3 – we seek to develop a simple and pure devotion to Jesus Christ. We do this by faithfully proclaiming God’s Word and not our own ideas. Our aim is to avoid trendy notions or traditions that pull us away from that simple and pure devotion to Jesus. We believe in challenging one another to follow Christ, while not pressing each other into a particular church mold. Respecting each other as individuals, we enjoy the liberty of the Christian life that leads to true holiness. We celebrate God’s grace and respect His commands. We take seriously the commandment to love God whole-heartedly, and love our neighbors as ourselves.

We invite you to get to know us better. Then, if the Lord should lead you, to join with us in making Christ known through the ministry of His church.
