1 Samuel 2:11-26

While we’ve spent the last few weeks admiring the bright light of Hannah’s faith with Pastor Wayne Wilson, today we confront the “stomach-churning” darkness at the heart of Israel’s religious leadership. Eli’s sons, Hophni and Phinehas, held the highest offices in the land but were described with one chilling phrase: “They did not know the Lord”. Amidst the corruption, a small light begins to shine. The boy Samuel was “growing in stature and in favor both with the Lord and with men”.
